Dorchester Chapter Blank Check Society of America

"Freedom for those who have fought for it, has a flavor that the protected will never know."

-Hung on a hooch, Da Nang '65

"Our Story"

"A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a "BLANK CHECK" made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'

The Blank Check Society of America, Inc., is our National Headquarters. The Blank Check Society of America, Inc., is an established/recognized Non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.

The “Grim Reaper” is an established Florida local military icon. On 1 May 1952, VF-101 was commissioned at NAS Cecil Field, Florida. This new squadron assumed the nickname and traditions of the previous Grim Reapers from WWII and flew combat missions in the Korean War. Later in 1957, VF-101 was assigned to the Carrier Air Group 7 aboard the USS Saratoga (CVA-60). Our Reaper distinctly holds the hourglass of life and is a direct correlation to the “cashing in” or “expiration” of a check written in the blood of Patriots.

The Blank Check Society (BCS) will honor all veterans graves, US and Confederate. The BCS places the appropriate flag for their service. The BCS will not discriminate or exclude any veteran from any of our nation's past wars or military service. The BCS will diligently search for and locate cemeteries and veterans graves that have been neglected or ignored, for whatever reason, by other organizations. The BCS may provide an escort service for the funeral of fallen veterans, at no cost to their family members.
